I’m with Trudeau…

Alexander Trudeau that is,not his over hyped father,Pierre Elliot RIP.
Recent comments by Alexander Trudeau on the Canadian role in Afghanistan speak to a reality that no amount of wishful thinking will change.
Canada’s “aggressive” war in Afghanistan is all about “teaching lessons with weapons” and will leave nothing behind “except the blood we’ve lost there,”
The fighting in Afghanistan is motivated by many factors, the good versus evil argument being the weakest of em all.But for what ever reason, that’s the narrative that gets repeated over and over again.
If only the world were that simple, but it is not …
“Our aggressive military activities in Afghanistan are foolish and wrong,” said Alexandre (Sacha) Trudeau, 34.
“The Pashtun (people) have extremely different values than ours, values we may not agree with in any case, but it’s not our business to try and teach them lessons with weapons,”
One thing is clear Canada and NATO will pullout. The cost is too high and the longer this ugly little war drags on Canadians will yawn and move on.
Much as Canadian’s are already doing, the media included.
The only Canadians with a real stake in Afghanistan…
Are the families, that have sons and daughters in harms way.The only existential threat that Afghanistan poses,is to the lives of our young men and women of the Armed Forces.
My heart goes out to the families, especially the mothers.
There is no dignity dying in an irrigation ditch nor being blown up by an IED, that can be made for the price of a pizza.
That is the only “lesson” that this futile, dirty little war has to teach. Unfortunately it won’t be the government, nor the arm-chair warriors that learn the lesson,it will be the families & friends of the dead.
The sooner Canada get’s out,the better off Canada will be.
